**ADVANCE NOTICE (so as to avoid disappointment) ** Our wonderful local market town, Ilminster, is hosting a 10 day literary festival next month and tickets are selling fast! There's a huge range of genres to choose from so why not have a stay here in our 5* shepherd's hut whilst enjoying a cultural extravaganza at this friendly, relaxed festival?
Here are the current local top spots to be indulging in a bit of tulip appreciation - Forde Abbey and Gardens, Barrington Court NT and Lytes Cary NT. All within striking distance of the hut presenting plenty of opportunities to satisfy the tulip connoisseur. And all with equally tip top tea rooms for the cake enthusiasts. Enjoy!
Apparently our guests can expect to be treated to an amazing display of meteors this weekend. The firepit, blankets and thermos are at the ready to keep them cosy and with clear skies forecast there's no excuse not to take advantage of this opportunity! Happy shooting star gazing!
The forecasters got it right! Which has made for perfect gardening weather so I've been turning my attentions to the flower patch so that you can all have one of these little arrangements on arrival..... Weeds and slugs have got the upper hand at the moment but I'll keep battling on!
This time the Days were on the receiving end of wedding celebrations and were treated to an amazing day of fun, fizz, fab food, a bit of a boogie and lots of romance! Thank you Susi for coming up with this fantastic gift. The happy couple loved it.... "We would just like to say a massive thank you for our beautiful personalised card! We loved it! It is already in the frame ready to have pride of place in our new home😊" Congratulations Mr and Mrs Clarke
The hut has been closed for business this week whilst the Days have been enjoying a spot of 'la dolce vita' and as an added bonus we seem to have come home to the promise of a heat wave with temperatures forecast to hit 20°C this week! Seems like the perfect time to come and enjoy 'the good life' Stocklinch style!
Wedding Season has kicked off for 2018 and we're very excited to be hosting our first newly weds tonight! And to mark the occasion I asked lovely local lady, Susi, of the wonderful Coppertop Cards to make one of her 'specials' with the added personal touch. Congratulations Mr & Mrs H
Only an hours drive from Bristol transports you to this peaceful rural hamlet in a hidden corner of Somerset where you can enjoy a relaxing break in this light and airy fully self-contained shepherd's hut in a tucked away corner of an orchard with stunning panoramic views and sunsets looking out across the Somerset countryside.
With no desire for exotic foreign travel this Easter our visitors this weekend very much appreciated the short transfer from Bristol transporting themselves to rural Somerset. They seemed blissfully happy rotating between the hut, Stocklinch Ales and the Barrington Boar; the 'holy trinity' of a stay here in Stocklinch. Yes, the weather was a tad disappointing but that's not everything and given that a holiday is meant to leave you feeling refreshed & rejuvenated, then their f
