places of interest

cider country

This is of course cider country so there are plenty of opportunities around and about to do a spot of tasting in some very interesting authentic locations.

Perry's Cider is in a beautiful village setting with tastings, shop, orchard trails, museum, cafe and farm shop. In the summer months they have a woodfired pizza oven and cider bar running on Saturdays.

Burrow Hill Cider and Somerset Cider Brandy is situated in a truly magical setting with magnificent views from the top of 'One Tree Hill' looking out over the orchards and Somerset Levels. With trails through the orchards, tastings and shop this is definitely a place to visit.

Harry's Cider offer guided tours around their orchards and cidery with tastings and a shop. If you want to learn more about cider making and drinking you couldn't ask for a friendlier and more generous guide and host!

ilminster shops

South Somerset boasts many wonderful local market towns and villages each with their own unique character and charm and most definitely worth a visit.

But of course our local market town, Ilminster is the best priding itself on its amazing selection of independent shops including the international fashion designer Alice Temperley with her designer shop & bar, Temperley. It's a wonderful shopping experience - enjoy!

You will also find designer florist, Flora Ray specialising in dried flower arrangements as well as stunning bouquets.

And there are multiple interiors, antiques, homewares, designer dress and gift shops to tempt you.

And of course don't forget about the specialist food shops and cafes listed on the Food and Drink page.

further afield

Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coast are a short drive south from Stocklinch where you enjoy a stunning stretch of coast line with walks and the chance to get out on the water.

And the nearby Quantock Hills and Exmoor provide you with an opportunity to experience the more rugged, wild side to Somerset.
