Autumn Newsletter 2019

Welcome to the Autumn 2019 Stocklinch Shepherd's Hut Newsletter.

Apparently autumn officially started this week which sadly means that Summer 2019 has come to an end. It has however been an amazing summer here at the Stocklinch Shepherd's Hut with lots of you enjoying soaking in the hot tub, swinging in the hammock, lazing in the sunshine, celebrating with your loved one, sipping Somerset cider, savouring the sunsets, spotting the stars, strolling over the hill to enjoy the hospitality at The Barrington Boar or simply taking life very slowly!

And not only are we officially in the top 5 new luxury glampingly sites for summer 2019, but we also achieved over 100 5 star reviews on Airbnb! Thank you to all of the wonderful Airbnb community for sharing your feedback and giving such generous reviews. Don't worry though if you're not signed up to Airbnb - book direct and I promise you'll get the same 5 star service (and it's cheaper)!

We've got a couple of new introductions including supplies of local award winning Perry's Somerset Cider for you to enjoy in the Hut. We don't stock the full range so always recommend that you pay them a visit in nearby Dowlish Wake where you can see the making in progress as well as sampling and shopping! And local cake baker extraordinaire, Hattie of @stocklinchbakebox, has been supplying delicious special celebration cakes for guests to enjoy on arrival. Let me know if you would like something arranged and we will get that organised for you.

A stay here in the autumn time can be just as special and with the evenings drawing in you can cosy up around the fire pit, wrapped in blankets, toasting marshmallows. The short walk back from The Barrington Boar by moonlight makes for a very memorable night out - just watch out for the badger holes! And there is something very magical about wallowing in the hot tub under the stars listening to the owls and the crackle of the wood fired stove.

And if you needed any more reasons to come and stay with us this autumn, then cider production is in full swing at this time of year so make sure you pop into one of the many local cider farms for some tastings and shopping - the perfect holiday momento! Now is also the time to come down to Somerset to experience an Illuminated Carnivals - it's a complete sensory overload and definitely not like anything you've experienced before! And right now Somerset Art Works is underway with the chance to meet and chat with local artists, makers and craftsmen in their studios and pick up a unique and special local gift to take home.

We look forward to welcoming you here over the coming months and sharing this wonderful part of the world with you!
