If you fancy having a go at paddle board or kayaking but don't want to be washed out to sea then a paddle on the Parrett could be the answer! Only a 20 minute drive from here is Langport Boat Hire situated in the heart of the Somerset Levels on the banks of the beautiful River Parrett. They offer the chance to discover the secret of Somerset’s charm from a different perspective as you paddle through the ancient town of Langport in search of adventure on a range of vessels including Canadian style Canoes, double Kayaks, single Kayaks and Paddle Boards. 

The live music scene is very vibrant in this part of the world with The David Hall in South Petherton, and in Ilminster, the Meeting House, Warehouse Theatre and and Dillington House all regularly have a huge range of performances to suit all tastes.


And of course there are many local festivals, big and small to enjoy over the summer months celebrating food, music, literature, theatre and art.
