If you are in need of some further R&R then book yourself into for a session at New Cross Farmhouse where they are offering a personal escape in the magical atmosphere of a Tudor dairy - their highly unique wellness studio. Their holistic fitness and wellness programme includes stretching, pilates, yoga and eastern healing arts. They are also running a wide variety of one day workshops including  willow working, cider making, flower gardening, self healing and plein air painting

And if you are looking for something more pampering then treat yourself to an aromatherapy facial with the wonderful Lucy Stevens of OV Naturals in nearby Hambridge or for a bit of glamourising and pampering book in to see Kerry Twigg with The Beauty Box in Barrington. Or alternatively spend the day at the award winning Elements Boutique Spa  on the Somerset levels where you can enjoy a variety of facials, massages, manicures, body and wellbeing treatments.

 

You could of course combine your stay with learning something new. If you fancy having a go at paddle board or kayaking but don't want to be washed out to sea then a paddle on the Parrett could be the answer! Only a 20 minute drive from here is Langport Boat Hire situated in the heart of the Somerset Levels on the banks of the beautiful River Parrett. They offer the chance to discover the secret of Somerset’s charm from a different perspective as you paddle through the ancient town of Langport in search of adventure on a range of vessels including Canadian style Canoes, double Kayaks, single Kayaks and Paddle Boards.

The live music scene is very vibrant in this part of the world with The David Hall in South Petherton, and in Ilminster, the Meeting House, Warehouse Theatre and and Dillington House all regularly have a huge range of performances to suit all tastes.

 

And of course there are many local festivals, big and small to enjoy over the summer months celebrating food, music, literature, theatre and art.
